Getting Comfortable
First few months focus on understanding your equipment and getting familiar with basic camera settings. This stage is about building confidence and shooting regularly.
Developing Your Eye
After six months of practice, you'll start noticing interesting light and compositions naturally. This is when photography becomes less technical and more intuitive.

Do I need expensive equipment to start?
Not at all. Many great photographers started with basic cameras or even smartphones. Understanding light and composition matters much more than having top-tier gear.
How long does it take to learn photography basics?
Most people feel comfortable with camera fundamentals after 2-3 months of regular practice. Everyone learns at their own pace though, so don't worry about timeline comparisons.
What subjects should I photograph as a beginner?
Start with whatever interests you most. Landscapes, portraits, street photography, or even objects around your house - the best practice comes from shooting subjects you genuinely enjoy.
When will courses be available?
Our next beginner photography course starts in August 2025. We'll announce registration details in June, so there's plenty of time to decide if it's right for you.
